Voting & Scores
Community voting hub, project scoreboards, rating criteria, and public showcases
1. Finding and joining active events
You can view all current hackathons, meetups, and developer challenges on the Events page. Participating helps you build your portfolio, connect with teammates, and showcase your ideas to the community.
- Event Types: Furver hosts game jams (online developer sprints) and RSVP meetups (local networking events).
- Click an event card to review its timeline, submission deadlines, scoring criteria, and specific rules.
- Click Join Event or RSVP to register. Active event roles will appear under your profile activity.
- Registering early ensures you receive system alerts when submissions open or voting stages begin.
2. Individual vs. team registration
Events support both solo developers and structured teams. If you are part of a team, you can coordinate your submission through the My Team dashboard.
- Individual (Solo): You register and build your submission alone. The entry is linked directly to your profile.
- Team Submission: One member submits the project and links the active team. All team members receive attribution.
- While team-native events are being perfected, your team dashboard tracks all events joined by members under Team Participation.
- Coordinating team roles (art, sound, coding) on the team tasks board keeps your jam workflow smooth before submission.
3. Submitting your project
Once the submission window opens, you must link a project to the event board. Unprepared or late projects cannot be accepted once the deadline passes.
- Ensure you have created a draft project page with a title, short description, category, and cover image.
- Go to the event page, open the submission panel, and select your project from the list.
- If your project has external demo files (WebGL, itch.io, drive links), include them in the detailed description area.
- You can edit your project content during the jam, but the project must remain linked to the event board to qualify.
4. Voting and scoreboards
After submissions close, the voting phase begins. The community and official judges review the project showcase to decide the top scores.
- Go to the Voting tab on the event page to browse all submitted entries.
- Community members can vote once per project. Top-voted projects receive the Featured tag on the scoreboard.
- Scores are calculated in real time based on community votes and points awarded by event judges.
- Use the sharing options to share your submission link with external networks to gather support.
5. Events hosted by your team
In addition to participating, verified teams can host their own local events and community jams directly through the platform.
- Go to your Team Events dashboard and click Host a Team Event.
- Define your event type, rules, timeline, cover image, and coordinate coordinator duties among members.
- Events start as drafts, allowing you to prepare the rules and checklist before publishing to the global event board.
- Organizing community events increases your team's visibility and trust index on the platform.
Tip:
If you submit as a team, create a single project page first, then assign it to the jam. Duplicate solo projects will confuse voters on the scoreboard.
Common mistakes
- Missing the submission deadline — event clocks are strict; late links cannot be attached manually.
- Submitting a project that does not match the event theme, which leads to immediate disqualification.
- Leaving the demo links empty or broken — double-check that WebGL build or download paths work.
- Registering as solo when you intended to submit as a team, losing member attribution on the project card.
Quick checklist
- I have read the specific event rules and timeline limits.
- I have registered for the event before the submission window opens.
- I have created a project draft page ready to link.
- I have verified that all demo file paths and external links are active.
- I have coordinated team member roles on the team workspace.
